Gokana Interpreter

About the role

LanguageLine Solutions is hiring a Gokana - English Phone Interpreter to work remotely from your home. This is an independent contractor position and not eligible for employee benefits.

Responsibilities

• Handle interpreting sessions promptly and professionally.
• Render accurate and meaningful interpretations between Gokana and English speakers.
• Adapt to various industries including healthcare, insurance, finance, and law.
• Ensure confidentiality and respect cultural differences.
• Communicate effectively in emotionally charged and stressful situations.
• Follow client instructions and adhere to protocol.

Requirements

• Fluency in Gokana and English.
• Cultural competency and regional accent awareness.
• Excellent listening, retention, and note-taking skills.
• Ability to remain neutral and objective during sensitive calls.
• Education or experience in language-related fields preferred.
• Adaptable to LLS technology enhancements.
• At least 18 years old.
• Legal authorization to work in the U.S.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read and write requested languages preferred.

Qualifications

• Work authorization that does not require visa sponsorship.
• Pre-employment background check and drug screen may be required based on location.
• Access to a quiet space and a reliable internet connection.
• Physical requirements for operating a keyboard and mouse.

Benefits

Pay

The pay rate is $0.75 - $0.90 per minute.

Schedule

This is a remote position where the Interpreter works from their home office.
