Gaddang Interpreter

About the role

LanguageLine Solutions is hiring a Gaddang-English phone interpreter to work remotely from home. This is an independent contractor position and not eligible for employee benefits.

Responsibilities

• Handle interpreting sessions promptly and professionally.
• Render accurate interpretations of conversations between Gaddang and English speakers.
• Speak clearly in both languages using proper pronunciation and enunciation.
• Maintain a professional demeanor and remain calm during interpreting sessions.
• Adapt to any LLS technology enhancements to improve service delivery.
• Understand and follow protocol and terminology for various industries.
• Ensure cultural sensitivity and work in a diverse environment.
• Be available during work hours and follow client instructions.

Requirements

• Fluency in Gaddang and English with cultural competency.
• Excellent listening, retention, and note-taking skills.
• Ability to handle sensitive and emotionally charged calls.
• Education or work experience in language-related fields preferred.
• At least 18 years old and legally authorized to work in the US.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read and write the requested languages preferred.

Qualifications

• Work authorization that does not require visa sponsorship.
• Access to a quiet space free from background noise.
• Basic computer skills and knowledge of operating systems.
• Ability to lift up to 26 lbs.
• Physical stamina to remain in a stationary position for long periods.
