About the role
LanguageLine Solutions is hiring a Gaddang-English phone interpreter to work remotely from home. This is an independent contractor position and not eligible for employee benefits.
Responsibilities
- Handle interpreting sessions promptly and professionally.
- Render accurate interpretations of conversations between Gaddang and English speakers.
- Speak clearly in both languages using proper pronunciation and enunciation.
- Maintain a professional demeanor and remain calm during interpreting sessions.
- Adapt to any LLS technology enhancements to improve service delivery.
- Understand and follow protocol and terminology for various industries.
- Ensure cultural sensitivity and work in a diverse environment.
- Be available during work hours and follow client instructions.
Requirements
- Fluency in Gaddang and English with cultural competency.
- Excellent listening, retention, and note-taking skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive and emotionally charged calls.
- Education or work experience in language-related fields preferred.
- At least 18 years old and legally authorized to work in the US.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to read and write the requested languages preferred.
Qualifications
- Work authorization that does not require visa sponsorship.
- Access to a quiet space free from background noise.
- Basic computer skills and knowledge of operating systems.
- Ability to lift up to 26 lbs.
- Physical stamina to remain in a stationary position for long periods.

- Strong language skills in Gaddang and English.
