About the Role
Director of Nursing (RN) with oversight of the Nursing Department in a skilled nursing facility.
Responsibilities
- Organize, develop, and supervise nursing operations to ensure high-quality resident care in compliance with regulations.
- Oversee and manage departments including Education, Infection Prevention, and Wound Management.
- Evaluate, implement, and oversee nursing care plans, staffing, and safety practices.
- Supervise and evaluate nursing staff performance; provide training and education as needed.
- Coordinate infection control and wound care programs.
- Assist in emergency situations and perform unit manager or charge nurse duties when required.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to address resident and family care concerns.
Requirements
- Current NY State RN license; graduate of an approved nursing school.
- Supervisory experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, or rehabilitation settings; geriatric experience preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (preferred) or 5+ years supervisory experience.
- Wound Care Certification & SigmaCare experience are advantageous.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office; excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work under pressure, collaborate effectively, and adapt to changing needs.
