Full-Time Nursing Director

About the Role

Oversees the nursing department in a skilled nursing facility, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local standards to maintain high-quality resident care. Responsible for managing staff supervision, education, infection prevention, and wound management. Coordinates care plans in collaboration with interdisciplinary teams and assists in emergency situations. Ensures proper training, evaluation, and performance management of nursing personnel.

Responsibilities

• Develop, organize, and direct nursing operations
• Oversee staffing, safety, and quality standards
• Implement and coordinate infection control and wound care programs
• Supervise and train nursing staff; evaluate performance
• Assist in care plan assessment and development
• Communicate with residents, families, and healthcare teams
• May assume charge nurse duties during emergencies

Requirements

• Current RN registration in New York State in good standing
• Preferably a BSN or minimum five years of supervisory experience
• Experience in long-term or sub-acute care settings
• Wound Care Certification & SigmaCare experience are pluses
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
• Excellent communication, organization, and customer service skills
• Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing needs
• Strong commitment to quality care and ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
