About the Role
Organize, develop, and oversee the Nursing Department to ensure high-quality resident care in compliance with regulations.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and evaluate nursing staff, ensuring proper safety practices and standards.
- Coordinate Infection Control and Wound Management programs, including overseeing wound care certification.
- Assist in evaluating and implementing nursing care plans for residents.
- Train, orient, and educate nursing personnel; identify ongoing education needs.
- Manage staffing to maintain quality care standards.
- Communicate with interdisciplinary teams, residents, families, and guardians regarding care concerns.
- In emergency situations, may assume unit manager or charge nurse duties.
- Perform related duties as assigned to support facility operations.
Requirements
- Graduate of an approved nursing school with current NYS RN licensure in good standing.
- Supervisory or managerial experience in long-term or skilled nursing settings preferred.
- Wound Care Certification and SigmaCare experience are advantageous.
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (preferred) or minimum five years of supervisory experience.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office; excellent communication, organization, and customer service skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and collaboratively with diverse teams.
