Freight Handler - Part-Time

Role Overview This position involves transporting freight within a dock environment, utilizing motorized and manual equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks. Key responsibilities include verifying freight documentation, securing cargo inside trailers, repairing damaged freight, completing required reports, and assisting with freight documentation for customers. The role may also include hostling duties and adherence to safety and regulatory policies. Qualifications & Skills High school diploma or equivalent preferred; must be at least 18 years old.Experience in warehousing, freight handling, or forklift operations preferred.Ability to perform basic math, lift and carry freight, and open trailer doors requiring significant force.Strong physical endurance, including bending, twisting, squatting, and pushing/pulling freight.Effective communication skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team. Work Environment & Conditions Dock setting with exposure to weather, fumes, dust, and noise.Fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with frequent contact among personnel.Hours may vary based on operational needs.
