Freight Handler - Part-Time

Position Overview: Responsible for transporting freight within the dock area to and from trailers for loading and unloading. Key Responsibilities Handle freight using motorized and manual equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks.Verify freight documentation for accuracy regarding type, weight, and hazardous materials.Secure freight inside trailers with appropriate tools and supplies.Recoup or repair damaged freight as needed.Complete necessary documentation and reports.Assist customers with freight and documentation.Perform hostling duties if required.Comply with all relevant laws, regulations, and company policies.Perform additional duties as assigned. Qualifications & Skills High school diploma or equivalent preferred; must be at least 18 years old.Experience in warehousing, freight handling, or forklift operation preferred.Ability to perform basic math, lift and carry freight, and open trailer doors.Strong physical ability to bend, twist, squat, and push/pull freight.Effective communication skills and ability to work independently or in teams.Previous dock or warehouse experience is a plus. Working Conditions: Dock environment with exposure to weather, fumes, dust, and noise. Fast-paced, deadline-driven setting with frequent contact with personnel.
