Freight Handler - Part-Time

Role Overview: This position involves transporting freight within a dock environment, ensuring proper handling, securing, and documentation of shipments. The role requires operating equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks, verifying freight details, and assisting with freight documentation and customer interactions. Key Responsibilities Handle freight using motorized and manual equipment.Verify freight documentation matches shipment details.Secure freight inside trailers with appropriate tools.Recoup or repair damaged freight as needed.Complete required reports and assist with freight documentation.Perform hostling duties if required and assist customers.Comply with legal, safety, and company policies.Perform additional duties as assigned. Qualifications & Skills High school diploma or equivalent preferred.Must be at least 18 years old.Experience in warehousing, freight handling, or forklift operation preferred.Ability to perform basic math, lift heavy freight, and work independently or in a team.Good communication skills.Physical ability to lift, bend, twist, and push freight frequently. Working Conditions: Dock environment with exposure to weather, fumes, dust, and noise. Fast-paced, deadline-driven setting with varied hours based on operational needs.
