Freight Handler - Part-Time

Position Overview: Transport freight within dock areas to and from trailers for loading and unloading, ensuring proper handling and documentation. Responsibilities Include Using motorized and manual equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks for freight movement.Verifying freight documentation for accuracy, including type, weight, and hazardous materials.Securing freight inside trailers with appropriate tools like straps and ropes.Recouping or repairing damaged freight as needed.Completing required reports and assisting with freight documentation for customers.Performing hostling duties if required and complying with all safety and regulatory policies.Performing additional duties as assigned. Qualifications & Skills High school diploma or equivalent preferred; must be at least 18 years old.Experience in warehousing, freight handling, or forklift operation preferred.Ability to perform basic math, lift and carry freight, open trailer doors, and work in various physical positions.Strong communication skills and ability to work independently or in a team. Working Conditions Dock environment with exposure to weather, fumes, dust, and noise.Fast-paced, deadline-driven setting with frequent contact with personnel.
