Freight Handler - Part-Time

Role Overview: This position involves transporting freight within the dock area to and from trailers for loading and unloading. The role requires operating motorized and manual equipment, verifying freight documentation, securing cargo, and assisting with freight handling and documentation. Key Responsibilities Perform freight handling using forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks.Verify freight details and ensure proper documentation.Secure freight inside trailers with appropriate tools and supplies.Recoup or repair damaged freight as needed.Assist customers with freight and documentation.Perform hostling duties if required, ensuring compliance with safety and operational policies.Adhere to laws, regulations, and company policies.Complete required reports and documentation accurately. Qualifications & Skills High school diploma or equivalent preferred; must be at least 18 years old.Experience in warehousing, freight handling, or forklift operations preferred.Ability to perform basic math, lift and carry freight, and open trailer doors.Strong physical ability to lift, bend, twist, squat, push, and pull freight throughout shifts.Effective communication skills and ability to work independently or in a team. Working Conditions: The role involves working in a dock environment with exposure to weather, fumes, dust, noise, and a fast-paced, deadline-driven setting. Flexibility in hours may be required.
