About the Role
As an Independent Freight Agent, you will build and manage your own book of business within an established authority, focusing on sales and customer relationships. Backed by extensive experience in temperature-controlled transportation, you will leverage our support for operational tasks, allowing you to grow your freight business across various markets.
Responsibilities
- Prospect, develop, and manage freight shipping accounts primarily in the Eastern U.S.
- Match shippers' freight with carrier capacity using our brokerage and asset-based divisions.
- Build and maintain long-term customer relationships, especially in temperature-controlled freight.
- Negotiate rates and service agreements with shippers and carriers.
- Proactively communicate on load status, issues, and solutions.
- Operate independently while collaborating with support teams.
Requirements
- Experience as a freight broker or sales professional with an existing freight book.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a focus on relationship-driven business.
- Must have an operating brokerage or fleet operation—no MC authority required.
- Self-starter capable of managing a growing book of business.
