Frankenmuth Michigan Seeking Hospice Companion Volunteers (Non-Paid)

About the role

AdvisaCare Hospice is looking for compassionate and dependable volunteers to support hospice patients in Saginaw County. No healthcare experience is required; volunteers must be 18+ and serve locally. The hospice does not accept court‑ordered service hours.

Responsibilities

• Sitting bedside with hospice patients in nursing facilities
• Providing caregiver relief inside private residences
• Pet therapy (already licensed dogs) to visit with patients
• Playing guitar bedside of hospice patients
• Bereavement volunteer support calls to family and assisting with grief groups
• Pre‑med students interested in learning about gerontology patient care
• Grief support (remote)

Requirements

• Willing to submit TB and drug tests
• Willing to be fingerprinted
• Must be 18 years of age or older
• No court‑ordered service hours accepted
