Chesaning, Michigan Seeking Hospice Companion Volunteers in (Non-Paid)

About the opportunity

AdvisaCare Hospice is always looking for compassionate and dependable people to be there for our hospice patients. It’s time to make a difference in this world. We serve patients in the Chesaning, MI area. No healthcare experience is needed, but volunteers must be 18 years or older. Volunteers may serve near their own location. Hospice does not accept court‑ordered service hours.

Volunteer Opportunities

• Sitting bedside with hospice patients in nursing facilities
• Providing caregiver relief inside private residences
• Pet therapy (licensed dogs) visiting patients
• Playing the guitar bedside of hospice patients
• Bereavement volunteer support calls to families & assisting with grief groups
• Pre‑med students interested in learning about gerontology patient care
• Grief support (remote)

Requirements

• Willing to submit TB test, drug test, and undergo fingerprinting
