About the Role

AdvisaCare Hospice is seeking compassionate and dependable volunteers to support hospice patients in the CHESANING, MI area. No prior healthcare experience is required, and volunteers must be 18 years or older. Volunteers are encouraged to serve near their own location. Please note that hospice services do not accept court‑ordered service hours.

Volunteer Opportunities

• Sitting bedside with hospice patients in nursing facilities
• Providing caregiver relief inside private residences
• Pet therapy (licensed dogs) visits with patients
• Playing the guitar bedside of hospice patients
• Bereavement volunteer support calls to families and assisting with grief groups
• Pre‑med student opportunities to learn about gerontology patient care
• Remote grief support

Requirements

• Willingness to submit TB and drug test results and to be fingerprinted
