About the role

AdvisaCare Hospice seeks compassionate and dependable volunteers to support hospice patients in the Saginaw county area. No prior healthcare experience is required; volunteers must be 18 years or older and serve locally. Court‑ordered service hours are not accepted.

Responsibilities

• Sitting bedside with hospice patients in nursing facilities
• Providing caregiver relief inside private residences
• Pet therapy visits (with already‑licensed dogs)
• Playing guitar bedside for hospice patients
• Bereavement volunteer support calls to family and assisting with grief groups
• Pre‑med student opportunities to learn about gerontology patient care
• Remote grief support

Requirements

• Willing to submit to TB and drug tests
• Willing to be fingerprinted
• Must be 18+ years of age
• No healthcare experience required
• Ability to volunteer near your location in Saginaw county
• Court‑ordered service hours not accepted
