Position Responsibilities
- Maintain safety, health, and environmental policies and procedures.
- Support the safety program for the department; create a safe culture to sustain safety standards for all maintenance technicians.
- Establish solid accountability and proficiency standards for all staff.
- Create a reliability-focused environment that will reduce operating costs while improving overall equipment effectiveness and asset utilization.
- Execute procedures for the department to follow to eliminate failures and support specific measures to prevent repeated failures.
- Cook up a ratio of proactive to reactive activities on a day-to-day basis.
- Account for unscheduled equipment downtime while focusing the team input on meeting the challenging production requirements.
- Use a computerized maintenance management system to track and collect data and to create management reports as needed for planning and effectiveness evaluation.
- Direct leadership accountability and oversight of mechanical, electrical, electronic and instrumentation crafts; supervisory staff and supplementary third-party resources.
- Lead a team and create a culture which fully understands the value of determining the root cause of inefficiencies and has a relentless determination for process improvement.
- Participate in review of overall plant performance measures.
- Cook with site leadership to ensure performance standards are met.
- Conduct daily, weekly, and one-on-one meetings with maintenance team.
- Support customer meetings and plant initiatives.
- Work with individuals on career planning, training, and skills development.
- Ensure all safety procedures, practices, and regulations are followed before, during, and after the process to foster a positive safety culture by having a safety-first mindset and approach during execution of activities.
Essential Skills And Experience
- A minimum of five years’ experience in the organization of mid-to large industrial/commercial operations.
- A minimum of three years’ experience in BAS (Building Automation Systems) preferably Siemens.
- A minimum of three years’ experience in Industrial Chillers.
- Experience in industrial HVAC systems.
- An associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college and 5 years of supervisory experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Previous leadership experience in manufacturing required.
- Supervisory experience in workflow prioritization, critical equipment management, employee evaluations and discipline.
- A proven record of managing a safe working environment.
- Organizational skills including, but not limited to 5S and shop housekeeping.
- Professional communications and customer service skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Experience in CMMS (preferably SAP) and report writing.
- Contractor and vendor coordination experience.
- Knowledge of the following trades: Electrical, Electronics, Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), Fluid power, Mechanical, HVAC, chillers, boilers, vessels, tanks, liquid distribution, Variable Frequency Drives, Robotics.
- Experience demonstrating successful support of a positive safety culture.
Beneficial Skills And Experience
- A bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university.
