About the role

As our Experienced Truck Technician / Mechanic, you’ll maintain and repair medium and heavy-duty Class 7 & 8 trucks, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and high standards. You’ll diagnose and troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical issues, repair or rebuild major components such as cabs, steering systems, engines, transmissions, axles, differentials, brakes, clutches, electrical systems, and air systems. You’ll work alongside highly trained technicians in a fully equipped shop, with access to tools, training, and support to perform top-quality work.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and repair medium and heavy-duty Class 7 & 8 trucks.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical issues.
  • Repair or rebuild major components including engines, transmissions, axles, differentials, brakes, clutches, electrical systems, and air systems.
  • Work efficiently to maximize customer uptime and ensure trucks run smoothly.
  • Perform high-quality repairs to meet Pape’ standards.

Requirements

  • 2 or more years of experience working on all makes and models of medium and heavy-duty Class 7/8 trucks, including engine repair, electronic troubleshooting, HVAC systems, and chassis repair.
  • Diesel tech degree with mechanical aptitude/background may substitute for experience.
  • Kenworth Essentials certifications preferred.
  • Basic computer knowledge; Cummins and MX software experience preferred.
  • Self-motivation and ability to work with little or no supervision.
  • Excellent communication and customer relations skills.
  • Must provide own tools.

Pay

$29.80–$34.35/hour (depending on experience).
