About the role

Pape’ Kenworth, a premier medium and heavy-duty truck and equipment dealer in the West, is seeking an Experienced Truck Technician to join our team. You’ll maintain and repair medium and heavy-duty Class 7 & 8 trucks, ensuring every job is completed accurately, efficiently, and to the highest standards. Your work will directly support our customers’ success by keeping their trucks running smoothly and maximizing uptime.

Each day, you’ll diagnose and troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical issues, identifying the best solutions to restore each truck to peak performance. Your work may include repairing or rebuilding major components such as cabs, steering systems, engines, transmissions, axles, differentials, brakes, clutches, electrical systems, and air systems. You’ll have the opportunity to continue improving your skills while working alongside other highly trained technicians in a fully equipped shop.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues on medium and heavy-duty Class 7 & 8 trucks
  • Repair or rebuild major components including engines, transmissions, axles, differentials, brakes, clutches, electrical systems, and air systems
  • Perform maintenance and repairs to ensure trucks operate at peak performance
  • Work with modern diagnostic tools and software to identify issues accurately
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment

Requirements

  • 2 or more years of experience working on all makes and models of medium and heavy-duty Class 7/8 trucks, including engine repair, electronic troubleshooting, HVAC systems, and chassis repair
  • Diesel tech degree with mechanical aptitude/background accepted in lieu of experience
  • Kenworth Essentials certifications preferred
  • Basic computer knowledge; Cummins and MX software experience preferred
  • Self-motivation and ability to work under little or no supervision
  • Excellent communication and customer relations skills
  • Must provide own tools

Schedule

Tuesday – Friday: 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
Saturday: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM

Pay

$29.80–$34.35 per hour (depending on experience)
