About the role
The Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF) Central Region Highways & Aviation is seeking an Equipment Operator, Journey 2 in Palmer to assist with the maintenance of state highways within the Mat-Su District.
Responsibilities
- Operate and service heavy and light-duty equipment
- Maintain all vegetation, signs, barricades, fences, bridges, culverts and drainage structures
- Perform traffic control duties
- Remove snow and ice with plow/sanders and graders with all attachments
- Assigned to the Palmer maintenance station
Requirements
- Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- Registration with the federal CDL Drug & Alcohol Testing Clearinghouse
- Pass Pre-Employment drug test
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of related experience
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid Alaska Commercial Driver's License (CDL)

- Proficiency with heavy machinery
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Pay
The salary range for this position is $35,000 - $45,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
Schedule
