About the role

The Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF) Central Region Highways & Aviation is extending the recruitment period for multiple Equipment Operator, Journey 2 positions in Silvertip. These positions are essential for maintaining state highways within the Peninsula District.

Responsibilities

• Operate and service heavy and light-duty equipment
• Maintain all vegetation, signs, barricades, fences, bridges, culverts, and drainage structures
• Perform traffic control duties
• Remove snow and ice with plows and graders
• Perform maintenance tasks at the Silvertip maintenance station

Requirements

• Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with N-Tanker endorsement
• Current CDL Drug & Alcohol Testing Clearinghouse registration
• Compliance with DOT&PF Drug and Alcohol Policy
• Pass Pre-Employment drug test

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience operating heavy and light-duty equipment
• Knowledge of highway maintenance practices
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Skills

• Strong mechanical aptitude
• Good physical fitness for manual labor
• Effective communication skills
• Ability to follow safety protocols

Pay

The starting salary range for this position is $45,000 - $55,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
