About the role
The Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF) Northern Region Highways & Aviation, Western District seeks an Equipment Operator Journey 2 to support construction and road maintenance activities in Nome, AK.
Responsibilities
- Operate heavy machinery to support construction and road maintenance activities.
- Perform routine inspections and handle basic maintenance tasks.
- Work closely with your team to complete projects safely and efficiently.
- Adapt to changing conditions and work independently and as part of a crew in a rural environment.
Requirements
- A valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Tanker and Air Brake endorsements.
- Experience operating heavy machinery.
- Ability to work in a rural, outdoor environment.
- Strong attention to detail and safety awareness.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least 2 years of related experience.
- Completion of a vocational or technical program in equipment operation.
Skills
- Proficient in operating heavy machinery.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
