About the role
Equipment Mechanics & Diesel Technicians are responsible for maintaining, repairing, and operating fleet vehicles, heavy equipment, and pavement preservation machinery.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and perform preventive and emergency repairs on various vehicles and equipment.
- Repair diesel engines, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, HVAC systems, and mechanical components.
- Conduct inspections, maintain equipment readiness, and ensure safety compliance.
- Read manuals, work orders, and schematics; maintain accurate maintenance records.
- Assist with parts procurement, operate diagnostic and welding tools, and uphold a clean work environment.
- Support field and shop operations, perform safety and DOT inspections, and perform additional assigned duties.
Qualifications
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent preferred.
- Minimum of two years’ experience in diesel repair, equipment or fleet maintenance, or related fields.
- Strong troubleshooting skills in mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
- Valid driver's license; CDL-A and tanker endorsement preferred.
- Welding and fabrication skills are advantageous.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and utilize necessary tools and diagnostic equipment safely.
