Equipment Mechanics & Diesel Technicians

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and perform preventive maintenance on fleet vehicles, heavy equipment, and pavement preservation machinery.
• Conduct inspections, safety checks, and repairs on various mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and HVAC systems.
• Maintain and repair equipment such as loaders, rollers, pavers, trucks, and trailers, ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.
• Read manuals, schematics, and work orders; document maintenance activities accurately.
• Assist with parts procurement, inventory management, and operate diagnostic and maintenance tools safely.
• Support field operations, working in shop environments, active job sites, or from service trucks.

Qualifications & Skills

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent preferred.
• At least two years of experience in diesel repair, equipment maintenance, or related field.
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills across mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
• Valid driver’s license; CDL-A and tanker endorsement preferred.
• Welding, fabrication skills, and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Key duties include performing repairs, preventive maintenance, safety inspections, managing work records, and supporting both shop and field operations.
