About the role
We are seeking an Epic Application Analyst to support our NYC client. The role involves assessing, designing, developing, implementing, and supporting enterprise clinical systems and healthcare integrations. The Analyst will translate clinical and operational needs into detailed requirements and partner with various teams to ensure reliable exchange of clinical and operational data.
Responsibilities
- Analyze and document clinical and business requirements, workflows, processes, conceptual data models, process models, flowcharts, and technical specifications.
- Interview end users, stakeholders, and project sponsors to assess clinical and operational needs and develop business, functional, and technical requirements documentation.
- Define external interfaces, system constraints, data quality issues, and other non-functional requirements.
- Translate gathered information into detailed requirements covering data sources, data and user types, interface components, navigation, reporting, and administrative system needs.
- Identify requirements risks, concerns, dependencies, and ambiguities; communicate them to the project management team and assist in developing solutions.
- Partner with project managers to complete requirements and project deliverables in accordance with established schedules.
- Plan, organize, facilitate, and lead meetings and workgroups, and oversee follow-up activities.
- Collaborate with software development and quality assurance teams to confirm all defined requirements are addressed and quality standards comply with internal policies and industry standards.
- Document baseline requirement changes through the standard change control process.
- Develop software test plans, technical requirements, release notes, end-user materials, training guidelines, and related project documentation.
- Plan, coordinate, and support user acceptance testing, unit acceptance testing, system deployments, and post-deployment activities.
- Provide end-user and application support, including troubleshooting and resolution of application defects.
- Lead training, mentoring, development, and performance oversight for junior clinical business analysts, consultants, and other assigned project team members.
- Identify, analyze, and communicate process improvement opportunities and implementation strategies.
- Support Epic modules including Inpatient Clinical Documentation, Stork OB, Inpatient Orders, Infection Control, Long Term Care/Rehabilitation, Beacon Oncology, OpTime, Anesthesia, Radiant, Cupid, Laboratory, Willow, ASAP, Care Management, EpicCare Ambulatory, MyChart, EpicCare Link, Kaleidoscope, HOD, and Home Health.
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience with Epic EMR and/or other clinical applications.
- Valid Epic Bridges certification.
- Strong knowledge of HL7 and healthcare interoperability standards.
- Strong knowledge of InterSystems IRIS for Health.
- Experience analyzing workflows, mapping healthcare data, and defining interface requirements for clinical system integrations.
- Experience soliciting, defining, documenting, and managing business, functional, technical, interface, testing, and non-functional requirements.
- Experience supporting clinical systems throughout assessment, design, development, implementation, testing, deployment, and production support.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with clinical, operational, technical, project management, software development, quality assurance, and leadership teams.
- Experience facilitating meetings and workgroups and managing follow-up activities.
Qualifications
- Mandatory Qualifications: Master’s degree or advanced clinical degree from an accredited college or university and 2+ years of experience serving as a lead in soliciting, defining, and managing requirements for internally or externally developed software in a clinical, allied health, non-allied health, behavioral health, information technology, information services, business, analytics, or related area; or 1+ year of experience in a relevant clinical and/or healthcare administration role or function.
- Desirable Qualifications: Prior experience with EHR-to-Epic conversions and healthcare data, clinical background, 2+ full life-cycle Epic or clinical system implementations, certification in one or more relevant Epic application modules, additional specialty certification issued by a nationally recognized commercial program, state, professional society, academic institution, or technical institution, experience leading, mentoring, supervising, or evaluating junior clinical business analysts, consultants, or project team members.

80% Remote / Up to 20% On-Site; must be able to report to the office within 48 hours
