$25.83 - $31.81 per hour

The above reflects the anticipated hourly wage range for this position if hired to work in New Jersey. The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills, and professional experience.

Responsibilities

• Receive and process emergency and non-emergency calls for medical assistance
• Dispatch appropriate EMS units based on the nature and location of the call
• Provide pre-arrival medical instructions to callers following established protocols
• Maintain accurate records of all calls and dispatch activities
• Coordinate with other emergency services and healthcare facilities as needed
• Monitor and track the status of all EMS units in the field
• Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and standards

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Minimum of one year of experience in emergency dispatch, public safety, or a related field
• Certification as an Emergency Medical Dispatcher (EMD) or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire
• Strong communication and multitasking skills
• Ability to remain calm and make decisions under pressure
• Proficiency with computer-aided dispatch (CAD) systems
• Knowledge of medical terminology and emergency protocols
