EMS Dispatcher

About the role

The EMS Dispatcher position at Advocate Health is responsible for managing emergency medical services dispatch operations.

Responsibilities

• Receive and prioritize incoming calls for emergency medical services
• Assign appropriate ambulance units and personnel based on patient needs and location
• Communicate with patients, family members, and healthcare providers to gather and relay critical information
• Ensure timely and accurate dispatching of ambulances and other emergency response vehicles
• Monitor dispatch logs and maintain accurate records of all incidents
• Respond to and assist with complex dispatch situations as needed

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver’s license
• Knowledge of emergency medical services protocols and procedures
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends

Qualifications

• Experience in emergency medical services or related field preferred
• Strong computer skills, particularly proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
• Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize effectively

Pay

Base compensation listed within the listed pay range based on factors such as qualifications, skills, relevant experience, and/or training. Premium pay such as shift, on call, and more based on a teammate's job. Opportunity for annual increases based on performance.

Nights and Weekends
