EEG Extern (Per Diem/Day) Center City

Job Duties

• Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson.
• Practice under supervision of R. EEGT/Preceptor, assisting in the provision of care to patients.
• Demonstrates ability to perform equipment set-up and monitoring under direct supervision of R. EEGT/Preceptor.
• Assists R. EEGT/Preceptor with direct patient care as follows:
• Absorbs and prepares for neurodiagnostic procedures by setting up and preparing equipment.
• Anticipates equipment/supply needs for the admission and discharge of patients in the routine EEG lab and also in the EMU.
• Sets-up and removes supplies and equipment from patient rooms for the next admission.
• Responds according to hospital procedure in emergency situations.
• Demonstrates skill in using EEG/LTM monitoring equipment.
• Assists with work in the department, equipment room, and EEG tech review area.

Physical Demands

• Lift and carry 40-50 lbs.
• Frequent to continuous standing/walking.
• Patient transporters can walk 8-10 miles per shift.
• Performs activities such as kneeling, bending, squatting, and performing CPR.
