About the Role
The neurology technician is responsible for providing various electroencephalogram studies (Routine, Sleep Deprived, LTM EEG) as ordered by a physician for patients from adult to geriatric age. In addition, this individual will act as a super-user/system administrator for the digital EEG system and long-term EEG monitoring systems.
Responsibilities
- Performs various types of encephalogram studies.
- Maintains the digital EEG and long-term monitoring systems.
- Clips long-term monitoring studies to reduce required server space.
- Obtains patient history from medical record and documents information in digital EEG system.
- Ensures patient orders and charges are correct and appropriate.
Requirements
- A minimum of one year of adult experience is preferred, must be in a clinical setting.
- Knowledge of digital EEG systems is preferred.
- ABRET pathways considered.
- High school education; college education preferred.
- Graduate of accredited EEG program preferred.
- Must qualify for ABRET registry examination under at least ONE current ABRET pathway.
Qualifications
- BLS certification.
- Board eligible via ABRET pathway.
- R.EEG.T Registry within two years of hire.
Pay
$28.63 - $44.54 hourly.
