Job Summary

Under the general direction of the Radiologist and under the supervision of the Director of Radiology, coordinates the flow of the daily activities in assigned areas of responsibility. Prepares schedules for assigned staff for approval and participates in team interviews with candidates for positions in assigned areas. Provides performance appraisals for assigned team members to the Director. Completes audit and correction of department payroll records. Assists with implementation of policies and procedures to meet the various accrediting agencies’ regulations and laws. Ensures compliance with ACR, Missouri State, JCAHO, HIPAA and FDA standards. Assists with daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and semi-annual quality control procedures. Maintains QA records, tests, and audits. Interacts with other departments, physicians, and their office staff, patients, and families, visitors, and Radiology employees as needed. Ensures the department is kept neat and tidy at all times. Maintains all relevant equipment and procedure rooms. Orients and trains new technologists. Ensures efficient and quick patient throughput. Provides input into annual staff reviews. Performs duties of Radiologic Technologist when needed. Monitors daily productivity to ensure effective use of personnel and resources. Monitors patient satisfaction and recommends changes to improve service. Promotes the business. Provides input into the growth of the business, selection of equipment, and marketing.

Qualifications

  • Education: Graduate of an accredited program by the Joint Review Committee on Education and Radiological Technology (JCERT).

  • Licensure: Current registry in good standing with American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or registry eligible.

  • Certifications: Must be currently certified in BCLS.

  • Knowledge/Skills: Knowledge of radiology operations (hospital and outpatient). Strong interpersonal skills, written and verbal communication skills. Flexibility, self-motivation, teamwork, and ability to interact with patients, physicians, and personnel in a pleasant, positive, and courteous manner. Understanding of Mammography Quality Control Standards if applicable; Organizational Performance Improvement; Radiation Safety; Modality Operations (Procedural and Equipment – Diagnostic radiography and fluoroscopy, fixed and stationary, etc.); Film Processing and related items; Computer Documentation and associated paperwork; and other. Initiative and independent judgement. Broad knowledge of assessment, treatment, and care techniques and principles relevant to neonate/infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. Multiple modality certifications, McKesson PACS, Meditech EHR knowledge, and ACR accreditation processes. Experience: Minimum of three (3) years of work-related experience in a radiology modality (i.e. Diagnostic Radiography, CT, etc.).
