About the role

The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) seeks a skilled individual to join the Continuous Count Station (CCS) program in the Travel Information Unit. This role involves analyzing statewide traffic data using advanced tools like MDOT’s TDMS and modern GIS platforms to provide insights that inform transportation decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and validate traffic data to support federal reporting, statewide planning, and other critical transportation initiatives.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure the accuracy and reliability of traffic data used for various purposes, including public safety, mobility, and planning.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of systems that improve the efficiency and effectiveness of traffic data management.
  • Support the implementation of new technologies and methodologies to enhance data analysis capabilities.

Requirements

Required:

  • Education: Possession of a bachelor's degree in any major.
  • Experience: No specific type or amount is required for Departmental Analyst 9. Departmental Analyst 10 requires one year of professional experience. Departmental Analyst P11 requires two years of professional experience, including one year of experience equivalent to the intermediate (10) level in state service.

Qualifications

  • For Departmental Analyst (Departmental Trainee) 9: Educational level typically acquired through completion of high school and the equivalent of at least two years of full-time active-duty experience at or above the E-6 level in the uniformed services may be substituted for the education requirement.

Pay

The salary range for this position is between $45,000 and $75,000 per year, based on education and experience.
