Departmental Analyst 9-12
About the role
This position involves case work and serving as a staff witness for renewable energy and energy storage siting (RESS) applications, contested complaint cases, or other cases related to renewable energy facility siting and Public Act 233 of 2023.
Responsibilities
- Analyze evidence submitted by siting applicants to determine compliance with laws, rules, and Commission order guidelines for renewable energy and energy storage facility siting.
- Prepare briefs, reply briefs, and replies on siting issues in administrative proceedings before the Commission.
- Represent the Commission in meetings with the public, local units of government, siting applicants, contractors, and interested parties related to facility siting.
- Coordinate work with external contractors as needed.
- Provide information needed for renewable energy and energy storage facility decommissioning plans, cost updates, and financial assurance.
- Ensure applicants comply with Commission orders through inquiries, reviews of reports and data, complaints, and meetings with internal and external parties.
- Advise management on steps to maintain compliance with Commission orders.
Requirements
Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in any major.
- Departmental Analyst 9: No specific type or amount of experience is required.
- Departmental Analyst 10: One year of professional experience.
- Departmental Analyst P11: Two years of professional experience, including one year of experience equivalent to the intermediate (10) level in state service.
- Departmental Analyst 12: Three years of professional experience, including one year of experience equivalent to the experienced (P11) level in state service.
Alternate Education and Experience
- Departmental Analyst 9-12: Completion of high school and at least two years of full-time active-duty experience at or above the E-6 level in the uniformed services may substitute for the education requirement.
