Department of Music - Part-Time Lecturer Pool
About the role
The California State University, San Bernardino (CSUSB) Department of Music seeks qualified candidates for Lecturer positions to teach lower-division and upper-division undergraduate music courses. These courses are typically 1-unit, 2-unit, or 3-unit per semester, taught twice weekly on campus.
Responsibilities
- Prepare all course materials, including syllabi, assignments, classroom activities, and grading rubrics.
- Teach assigned courses in accordance with department guidelines.
- Evaluate student coursework and assign grades.
- Hold limited office hours for student consultation.
- Demonstrate commitment to excellence in teaching and mentoring a diverse student population.
Requirements
- Master of Arts degree in Music or a suitable related field.
- Candidates with industry experience will also be considered.
- Minimum qualifications include a degree in hand by time of appointment (MA in Music or equivalent).
- Experience at the higher education level is required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Ph.D. or equivalent.
- Evidence of scholarly activity, production experience, and publications.
Special Conditions
- Must be a 'mandated reporter' under the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act.
- A background check is required.
