About the role

AWS is looking for fully cleared Data Center Technicians to join our expanding Infrastructure Operations team. Data Center Technicians are the primary resolver and troubleshoot and solve a range of data center infrastructure issues including, but not limited to: hardware, fiber, networking, and related problems.

Responsibilities

  • Engage in physical data center activities with or without reasonable accommodation, including planning and tracking capacity, rack deployment, rack cabling, hardware and software troubleshooting, and rack decommissioning.
  • Work in a noisy environment.
  • Support 24/7 operations by covering both night and day shifts.
  • Take ownership of technical issues brought by their customer base, engaging other teams when needed to drive resolution.
  • Show a strong aptitude for troubleshooting and problem solving.
  • Solve problems at their root and step back to understand the broader context.
  • Maintain service level agreements through the implementation of proactive issue detection and reporting.
  • Improve effectiveness through process innovation.

Requirements

  • US Citizen with an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph.
  • Experience working in a data center environment (racking and stacking gear, cable management, hot/cold aisle containment).
  • Hands-on experience with one or more of the following hardware platforms (e.g. Dell, HP).
  • Networking experience with CCNA and/or Network+ certifications.

Qualifications

  • High school or equivalent diploma, or A+ or CND (Certified Network Defender) or Network+ or Security+ certification.
  • Two years of progressively responsible experience in IT-related field.

Skills

  • IT principles like computer architecture and the OSI model.
  • Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work in a data center environment.

Pay

The starting pay for this position is listed below. Final starting pay will be based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.

USA, MD, Laurel - 33.00 - 58.00 USD hourly

Schedule

This position may shift work that will include days/nights/weekends/holidays.
