About the role
AWS is seeking Data Center Technicians to join its Infrastructure Operations team. This role involves resolving and troubleshooting a variety of data center infrastructure issues, including hardware, fiber, networking, and related problems.
Responsibilities
- Engage in physical data center activities such as planning and tracking capacity, rack deployment, rack cabling, hardware and software troubleshooting, and rack decommissioning.
- Lift and move materials up to 49 pounds each.
- Work in cramped and/or elevated locations.
- Bend, lift, stretch, and reach.
- Stand and walk for up to 8+ hours a day.
- Ascend and descend ladders, stairs, and gangways safely and without limitation.
- Work in a noisy environment.
- Support 24/7 operations by covering both night and day shifts.
Requirements
- US Citizen with current, active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph.
- Ability to engage in physical data center activities.
- Experience with one or more of the following hardware platforms (e.g., Dell, HP).
- Networking experience with CCNA and/or Network+ certifications.
- Previous experience working in a Data Center environment (racking & stacking gear, cable management, hot & cold aisle containment).
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Current, active US Government Security Clearance of TS/SCI with Polygraph.
- Associate's degree in IT-related field preferred.
