Customer Service - Logistics Specialist

Jenny Bour with Robert Half looking for a Customer Service - Logistics Specialist to support commercial trading activity by coordinating order execution, shipment flow, and customer account needs from start to finish. This Customer Service - Logistics Specialist position works closely with internal trading partners as well as customers, suppliers, warehouses, and carriers to keep contracts moving accurately and on schedule. Based in Getzville, New York, the role calls for strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities:Serve as the primary contact for assigned customer accounts, ensuring contract activity is handled accurately and service issues are addressed promptly.Prepare, review, and maintain shipping and transaction records such as invoices, bills of lading, warehouse paperwork, and other required logistics documentation.Coordinate daily movement of goods with warehouses, producers, and trucking providers to confirm shipments align with customer specifications and delivery commitments.Arrange product releases and delivery schedules in accordance with contract terms and operational timelines.Evaluate freight options, negotiate transportation pricing, and authorize appropriate logistics expenses when needed.Resolve transportation and fulfillment challenges by adjusting shipment plans, communicating updates, and minimizing delivery disruptions.Track billing activity and outstanding receivables, partnering with customers and internal teams to help keep accounts current.Manage packaging details and unit-of-measure conversions to support accurate inventory handling and successful order fulfillment. Associate or bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, supply chain, or a related field is preferred.At least 3-5 years of experience in domestic logistics, transportation coordination, or supply chain operations.Demonstrated ability to stay organized, manage deadlines, and solve problems effectively in a high-volume environment.Self-directed approach to work with a strong sense of ownership, initiative, and follow-through.Ability to balance multiple responsibilities simultaneously while working both independently and collaboratively.Familiarity with import/export concepts, commercial trading terminology, and standard logistics documentation.Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and SharePoint; experience with AS400 is a plus.Comfortable learning new systems quickly and managing communication across busy inboxes and cross-functional teams. ***For immediate and confidential consideration, please apply directly or send your resume to Jenny Bour via LinkedIn.
