Custodial Worker 1, Facilities Management [R0153422]

About the role

Custodial workers provide general building maintenance services for assigned facilities consisting of offices, classrooms, conference areas, special event centers and other facilities. This position is required to work a non-standard work week; candidates could be expected to work any of the following shifts based on current or future vacancies:

• Main Shift (most custodians): 6:00 pm to 2:30 am Monday night through Saturday morning
• Library Crew: Monday – Sunday 7:30 pm to 4:00 am including weekends; days off will be during the week
• Weekend Crew: Monday–Friday 6:00 pm to 2:30 am; Saturday and Sunday 7:30 pm to 4:00 am

Minimum Qualifications

Per Executive Order 2026-001, all minimum qualifications have been waived for this position until December 31, 2026.

Preferred Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or equivalent education
• Six months of custodial or janitorial experience in a commercial, industrial, hospital, governmental or similar environment

Salary

Grade 21, Step 1, salary $38,419.20. In accordance with Nevada Administrative Code (NAC) 284.170, initial appointments to classified positions typically begin at Step 1 of the assigned grade.
