The Department of Transportation is seeking a Custodial Worker 1 to support a team that depends on clean and organized facilities. This role plays an important part in maintaining safe, neat, and ready-for-use work areas, offering steady and meaningful work that contributes to the organization’s success.
About the role
This position performs cleaning, upkeep, and basic maintenance tasks to ensure a safe and orderly environment.
Responsibilities
- Building Cleaning: Wash floors, polish furniture, clean lavatories, and maintain carpets and windows
- Trash Removal: Collect all trash and transport it to the dumpster
- Outdoor Upkeep: Shovel snow, sweep walks, and maintain building entrances
- General Assistance: Move furniture, deliver supplies, and complete errands as assigned
- Mail Duties: Collect mail, distribute items, and manage the raising and lowering of the flag
- Safety Awareness: Follow safety practices, attend training, and report unsafe conditions
Schedule
- Full-time employment
- Work hours: 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch
- No telework option available
