Responsibilities
This position supports the Luzerne County Maintenance District by performing daily custodial tasks that keep buildings and grounds in good condition. You will help maintain clean workspaces, manage supplies, and report safety concerns when needed. As a Custodial Worker 1, you will perform the following duties:
- Cleaning Tasks: Perform routine cleaning duties throughout offices and common areas
- Equipment Use: Use vacuums, scrubbers and other janitorial tools safely and correctly
- Grounds Care: Operate mowing and trimming equipment and empty trash containers daily
- Supply Management: Monitor supply levels and keep needed materials stocked
- Safety Reporting: Report any safety hazards to the supervisor in a timely manner
Qualifications
You must have experience utilizing commercial floor scrubbers and carpet shampoo machines, painting large walls and replacing ceiling tiles, lawn mowing, weed trimming, pruning shrubs, maintaining landscape, sweeping, and snow blowing-snow removal on sidewalks. You must also have experience washing windows, removing trash, and climbing ladders. You must be able to perform essential job functions.
A conditional offer of employment will require submission of criminal history reports.
Work Schedule and Additional Information
This is a full-time employment position. Work hours are 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. You will not have the option to telework in this position.
