Facilities Worker II - (Custodial)

Responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of PVSC buildings by performing routine cleaning and custodial maintenance duties, as well as manual and unskilled labor related to light equipment operations, landscaping, and snow removal.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine cleaning and custodial maintenance duties.
• Operate light equipment for landscaping and snow removal.
• Respond to emergencies and job assignments on a 24-hour basis.
• Enter confined spaces while wearing PPE in compliance with PVSC’s Facial Hair Grooming Policy.
• Maintain a safe and efficient work environment by adhering to safety precautions while operating equipment.

Requirements

• High School or Vocational School Diploma required.
• Valid New Jersey driver’s license.
• Minimum one (1) year experience in basic janitorial services or general landscaping preferred.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English to perform duties and follow instructions.
• Must qualify for and possess the ability to perform entry into confined spaces while wearing PPE.

Physical Demands

• Ability to sit, stand, walk, stoop, climb, kneel, lift up to 50 lbs., carry, reach, push, pull, and use tools.
• Manual dexterity and ability to use a keyboard.
• Visual acuity, hearing, and speaking abilities.
• Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation to ensure health and safety.

Working Conditions

Workers are employed in conditions associated with a wastewater treatment plant and sewer collection system, both indoors and outdoors.

Pay

The expected base pay range for this position is $42,761 to $67,120. The specific salary offered may be influenced by the candidate’s relevant experience, qualifications, education, training, and formal credentials.
