About the Role
Functions as a lead worker in cleaning and maintaining buildings and surrounding grounds. Ensures cleanliness and orderliness of assigned areas. May be required to move furniture and equipment.
Responsibilities
- Leads, assigns, reviews, and approves the work of other custodial personnel engaged in cleaning and maintaining building interiors and surrounding grounds.
- Maintains attendance records and completes routine forms.
- Requests, receives, and accounts for supplies and materials.
- Trains new employees in the performance of cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, scrubbing, waxing, buffing, and operating hand and power cleaning tools.
- Organizes rug extraction and carpet shampooing equipment and cleans carpets.
- Inspects assigned areas and reports cleaning or building disorders to superior.
- Performs all the duties of Custodial Worker I.
- Performs and promotes all activities in compliance with equal employment and nondiscrimination policies; follows federal laws, state laws, school board's policies, and professional standards.
Requirements
- Completion of the eighth grade.
- One year of cleaning and custodial experience.
- Valid Maryland Noncommercial Class C or equivalent driver's license may be required for some positions.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of the methods, materials, and techniques of cleaning and custodial work.
- Knowledge of basic safety practices and procedures.
- Skill in the operation and use of power and hand cleaning tools and equipment.
- Ability to train and interact effectively with others.
- Ability to read, write, and complete routine forms.
- Ability to work with chemicals and cleaning solutions.
Pay
Minimum Salary: $18.95 per hour
Maximum Salary: $25.50 per hour
Hiring Range: $18.95 - $21.38 per hour
