About the role

The Culinary Lead at Sur La Table is responsible for overseeing the culinary department, ensuring high-quality food preparation, and providing exceptional customer service. This role requires strong leadership skills and a passion for food.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the culinary staff to ensure all food items are prepared to the highest standards.
  • Develop and implement new recipes and menu ideas to keep the store fresh and appealing to customers.
  • Train and mentor culinary staff in food safety, hygiene, and cooking techniques.
  • Manage inventory levels and order supplies to maintain optimal stock.
  • Collaborate with other departments to enhance the overall shopping experience.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Culinary Arts or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a retail environment.
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate a team.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and procedures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Qualifications

  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and evenings.
  • Valid Food Handler’s Permit.

Skills

  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Pay
