About the role
The Culinary Lead at Sur La Table is responsible for overseeing the culinary department, ensuring high-quality food preparation, and providing exceptional customer service. This role requires strong leadership skills and a passion for food.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the culinary staff to ensure all food items are prepared to the highest standards.
- Develop and implement new recipes and menu ideas to keep the store fresh and appealing to customers.
- Train and mentor culinary staff in food safety, hygiene, and cooking techniques.
- Manage inventory levels and order supplies to maintain optimal stock.
- Collaborate with other departments to enhance the overall shopping experience.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Culinary Arts or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a retail environment.
- Proven ability to lead and motivate a team.
- Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and procedures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Qualifications
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and evenings.
- Valid Food Handler’s Permit.
Skills
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
