About the role

The Culinary Lead at Sur La Table is responsible for overseeing the culinary department, ensuring high-quality food preparation and presentation, and providing exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the culinary team to ensure all food items are prepared according to recipes and standards.
  • Manage inventory levels and order supplies as needed.
  • Train new employees on kitchen procedures and safety protocols.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Work closely with store management to develop and implement marketing strategies for the culinary department.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a restaurant or food service environment.
  • Experience managing a team of kitchen staff.
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid Food Handlers Permit.

Skills

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
