About the role
The Culinary Lead at Sur La Table is responsible for overseeing the culinary department, ensuring high-quality food preparation and presentation, and providing exceptional customer service.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the culinary team to ensure all food items are prepared according to recipes and standards.
- Manage inventory levels and order supplies as needed.
- Train new employees on kitchen procedures and safety protocols.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Work closely with store management to develop and implement marketing strategies for the culinary department.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a restaurant or food service environment.
- Experience managing a team of kitchen staff.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Food Handlers Permit.
Skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
