Culinary Lab Assistant, Student Worker

Position Details

Lincoln Land Community College is seeking Culinary Lab Assistants to provide support in the operation and monitoring of lab processes, equipment and activities in the Culinary Arts Program.

Responsibilities

• Assist instructor before class to prep and organize
• Be available for assistance during class
• Monitor and assist in cleanup after class as needed
• Aid in the maintenance of labs including cleaning, organizing, and preventative maintenance
• Wash and put away dishes, clean kitchen equipment, sweep and mop, unload and organize product, and perform various general kitchen cleaning tasks
• Requisition and put away unused products after class
• Keep coolers and dry storage neat, clean, and organized
• Assist in demonstrations or functions as needed
• Prepare various food products as needed for lab use and special events

Qualifications

• Maintain satisfactory academic progress
• Enrolled at least half-time (6 credit hours) during the semester of employment, with the exception of summer term
• Complete LLCC’s mandatory harassment prevention training within 30 days of employment
• Minimum GPA 2.5
• Experience in LLCC culinary labs highly preferred

Benefits

• Paid at minimum wage
• Scheduled to work up to 10 hours per week, mainly Monday through Friday
