Culinary Arts Lab Assistant
About the role
We are seeking a part-time (approximately 14 hours per week, 35 weeks per year) Culinary Lab Assistant to join our dynamic team. This position involves inventory management, stock rotation, washing, cleaning, and sanitizing cooking and food preparation tools and surfaces. Duties also include maintaining and assisting with daily perishable and non-perishable delivery and inventory management, answering and taking telephone messages, pre and post-classroom setups, and performing any other reasonable related tasks or jobs assigned by the culinary arts area coordinator or chef instructor. Security responsibilities include kitchens and storerooms areas while the chef instructor or area coordinator is not present.
Responsibilities
- Inventory management and stock rotation
- Washing, cleaning, and sanitizing cooking and food preparation tools and surfaces
- Maintain and assist with daily perishable and non-perishable delivery and inventory management
- Answering and taking telephone messages
- Pre and post-classroom setups
- Perform any other reasonable related tasks or jobs assigned
- Assist with kitchens and storerooms area security when chef instructor or area coordinator is not present
Requirements
- High School Diploma and three (3) years of work experience
- Ability to lift and move materials and equipment up to 50lbs
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time and perform frequent bending and lifting
Qualifications
- Associate's degree preferred
- Experience in the food service industry
- ServSafe certification preferred

- Ability to work independently

- Physical strength for kitchen lab operations
Pay
$20.2135 - $21.6284 (commensurate with experience)
