Part-time Culinary Lab Assistant

Responsibilities

• Set up the kitchen for classroom activities.
• Ensure adequate supplies and resources are available.
• Provide assistance to students and faculty in the learning environment.
• Average 26 hours per week, with hours varying based on instructional needs.
• Assist in the set-up of the culinary lab to facilitate student learning.
• Order supplies to meet the needs of the program.
• Receive and reconcile P-Card purchases and work with the Business Office to document these purchases.

Requirements

• Associate Degree in Culinary or Food Services from an accredited post-secondary institution or equivalent combination of education and work experience required.
• Bachelor’s Degree Preferred.
• Two (2) years of relevant experience within food services.

Qualifications

• Computer literate and practiced in various processes and applications, such as basic navigation, Microsoft Outlook, Word, and file management.
• Ability to demonstrate for and assist individuals and/or small groups.
• Strong organizational skills to record and track data.
• Strong verbal communication skills, including non-technical speaking skills, with the ability to communicate facts, explain procedures and answer questions from managers, staff, students and the general public.
• Demonstrated experience working with culturally diverse populations.
