Courier/Swing Drvr/CDL-2

About the role

Operates company vehicles to provide courteous and efficient delivery and pick-up of packages. Checks shipments for conformance to FedEx service standards. Provides coverage for all assigned routes within the station's service area. Performs related customer service functions, including the delivery, pick-up or shuttle of dangerous goods packages that require the vehicle to be placarded.

Responsibilities

• Perform related customer service functions, including the delivery, pick-up or shuttle of dangerous goods packages
• Work Sunday through Saturday with days off to be determined
• Scheduled hours between 04:30-23:00

Requirements

• Minimum Education: High school diploma/GED
• Minimum Experience: Six (6) months courier experience preferred
• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Must have a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a hazardous materials endorsement (HME)
• Must pass all FedEx Express & regulatory/statutory required background checks or security threat assessments
• Must meet & maintain the qualifications as outlined in the federal motor carrier safety regulations
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs and maneuver packages of any weight above 50 lbs with appropriate equipment and/or assistance from another person
• Must be able to read and speak the English language sufficiently to understand traffic signs, communicate with traffic safety officials, and respond to official inquiries and directions in accordance with FMCSA enforcement guidance

• Must demonstrate area knowledge
• Must have thorough knowledge of the station's service area preferred
• Must have demonstrated skills in adaptability, dependability & excellent courier methods
• Must have neat appearance since customer contact is required

Skills

• Good human relations and verbal communications skills

Benefits

Full-time, Sunday-Saturday schedule between 04:30-23:00. Position requires passing certification. Pay: $22.30 per hour. Additional details on benefits can be found here.

Job Conditions
