About the role

Operates company vehicles to provide courteous and efficient delivery and pick-up of packages.

Responsibilities

• Checks shipments for conformance to FedEx features of service.
• Coverage for all assigned routes within the station's service area.
• Provides related customer service functions.

Requirements

• Minimum Education: High school diploma/GED.
• Minimum Experience: Six (6) months courier experience preferred.
• Must be able to demonstrate area knowledge.
• Good human relations and verbal communication skills.
• Thorough knowledge of the station's service area preferred.
• Demonstrated skills in adaptability, dependability, and excellent courier methods.
• At least 21 years of age.
• Ability to read and speak the English language sufficiently to understand traffic signs, communicate with traffic safety officials and to respond to official inquiries and directions in accordance with FMCSA enforcement guidance.

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Ability to maneuver packages of any weight above 50 lbs with appropriate equipment and/or assistance from another person.
• Good human relations and verbal communication skills.
• Thorough knowledge of the station's service area preferred.
• Demonstrated skills in adaptability, dependability, and excellent courier methods.

Job Conditions

• Neat appearance since customer contact is required.
• Must meet and maintain the qualifications as outlined in the federal motor carrier safety regulations.
• Requires medical exam in accordance with FMCSA or FAA regulations.

Preferred Qualifications

• Specific requirements for operating a company vehicle as outlined in policy 4-48.
• Valid driver's license in accordance with state requirements for type of vehicle assigned and good driving record as outlined in policy.

Pay

$22.30 / hr starting pay.
