About the role
The Courier/Swing Drvr/CDL operates company vehicles to deliver and pick up packages, ensuring shipments conform to FedEx service standards. They also provide customer service functions such as delivering, picking up, or shuttling dangerous goods packages.
Responsibilities
- Operate company vehicles to deliver and pick up packages
- Check shipments for conformance to FedEx service standards
- Cover all assigned routes within the station's service area
- Provide related customer service functions
- Deliver, pick up, or shuttle dangerous goods packages as required
Requirements
- Minimum Education: High school diploma/GED
- Minimum Experience: Six (6) months courier experience preferred
Qualifications
- Area knowledge
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and maneuver packages above 50 lbs with appropriate equipment or assistance
- Good human relations and verbal communication skills
- Thorough knowledge of the station's service area preferred
- Demonstrated skills in adaptability, dependability, and excellent courier methods
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with Hazardous Materials Endorsement (HME)
- Good driving record as outlined in policy
- Neat appearance due to customer contact
Preferred Qualifications
- CDL Class B Driver License
- At least 21 years old
Job Conditions
- FMCSA covered safety-sensitive position
- Medical exam required
- Subject to regulatory alcohol & drug testing, including testing for marijuana, PCP, amphetamines, cocaine, and opioids
- Work in a constant state of alertness and safely
- Obtain and maintain valid CDL and HME for assigned vehicle type
Pay and Benefits
Pay: $21.36 - $33.18 per hour
Full-Time M-F, 8am-7pm
