Position Overview

We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Administrative Assistant / Customer Service Representative to support daily office operations and customer service functions within a growing construction products environment. This role is ideal for someone with strong math skills, excellent communication abilities, and a customer-focused mindset. The position will support sales and administrative activities, including customer service, order processing, invoicing, and product-related calculations. There are opportunities for cross-training and professional growth into expanded sales and office support functions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Answer incoming phone calls and provide exceptional customer service.
  • Respond to customer and internal email inquiries in a timely manner.
  • Aid customers with product information, order status updates, and general inquiries.
  • Maintain professionalism and work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Support walk-in customers and provide a positive customer experience.
  • Accurately enter and process customer orders.
  • Perform filing, recordkeeping, and general administrative support.
  • Learn and utilize company software for quotes, orders, and product information.
  • Assist with invoicing and related documentation once trained.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure data entry accuracy.
  • Complete measurement-based calculations and product quantity calculations.
  • Aid customers in determining appropriate products and components for their projects.
  • Develop knowledge of product lines and specifications.
  • Provide secondary support for additional product divisions after training.

Qualifications

  • Strong math skills required, including the ability to perform accurate calculations.
  • Previous customer service, administrative, or order entry experience preferred.
  • Construction, manufacturing, building materials, or related industry experience is a plus.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with computers, data entry, and office software.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Professional, dependable, and customer-focused attitude.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with order processing or invoicing.
  • Ability to learn technical products and industry terminology.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
  • Comfortable handling high-volume phone calls and customer interactions.
