CNC Field Service Engineer

About the role

As a CNC Field Service Engineer you will be responsible for installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining CNC machine tools at customer sites across the nation.

Responsibilities

• Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain CNC machine tools at customer sites nationwide
• Perform machine leveling, geometry checks, and final adjustments for optimal performance
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and application issues
• Identify root causes and recommend corrective actions, including repairs or replacements
• Offer on-site and remote technical support via various communication channels
• Assist customers, distributors, and internal teams with technical guidance and problem-solving
• Provide customer training and support project coordination as needed
• Support service at trade shows and events when required
• Maintain detailed service documentation and reporting

Requirements

• 5+ years experience in CNC machine maintenance and service (electrical & mechanical)
• Proven ability to install and service machining centers, including alignment
• Strong knowledge of PLC programming, CNC control systems (FANUC), and electrical systems
• Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and customer service skills
• Ability to travel extensively and work independently in the field
